MORTON L. ZALK, 63, president of Gelco Corp., a diversified management services company, died Wednesday. Zalk was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Hyman Michaels Co. of Chicago, before joining Gelco in 1964.

Morton L. Zalk, president of the Gelco Corporation of Eden Prairie, Minn., died early Wednesday in Mount Sinai Hospital of complications from a recent illness.

He was 63 years old.

Mr. Zalk, who lived in Deephaven, Minn., had been Gelco president since 1982. No successor has been named.

Gelco is a diversified management services company that provides corporate clients with leased and rental equipment, management systems and programs designed to help reduce costs and improve productivity. It has 590 branches, sales offices and service centers on six continents.

Mr. Zalk, who studied at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, was Gelco vice chairman and chief executive officer of Gelco Truck Leasing before being named president.
